Sooooo! *deep sigh...i've been away from my blog entirely too long! And the hardest part about getting back in the groove is deciding what is post worthy. A few moments ago while doing my hourly scroll on Instagram, I was stopped in my tracks by the following photograph:

Yes! That's a penis and testicles (BAWLSZ LMAO), MuvaRoseBud (Amber Rose), a big ol' booty & some tigobitties (free the ta-tas)! And this 'handy work' belongs to one of my favorite nail artist Kandi Banks bka Kandi Yamz (no, she hasn't actually done my nails, yet...I was exposed to her via Instagram & once you follow her you'll understand why she's my fav). She's from the Bay Area (always reppin'), owns a Nail Art Studio in Long Beach Cali, and is opening KandiLandMelrose very soon! She's won dozens of nail art competitions internationally & she's even done Nicki Minaj's nails several times. Scroll through her IG (CLICK HERE for KaniYamz IG) and you'll see she's the go to girl for lots of A-List celebs. Kandi Yamz is also a tv personality & was featured on Oxygen network's Nail'd It! She brought lots of spunk & pizazz that not many girls have. If she told me that she sweat glitter, i wouldn't freak' doubt it! Check out some of the beauty's work below:

 What I love most about Kandi is her personality. She switches up her accent (as do i) from time to time on IG videos and bygolly she just makes me feel a tad less crazy and a bit more cool for being one of 'those ppl'. She's down to earth, inspiring, funny, but above all a creative genius. She creates the neatest most intricate nail art i've seen. Her 3D nail art looks so real its scary lol one time she put a fried chicken wing on someones nail it made my mouth water lord jesus lmao jk but it was soon good! lol She's not only about show either. She always emphasizes on nail health and safety. And best of all she's representing for my SlimThick squad (woo woop!) lmao so yea, i love her. Recipe for Red Potatoes and Chicken Casserole

Serving size: 6
Prep time: 1.5 hours

Ingredients:

9 red potatoes
4 chicken breast
2 cups of cheese
10-12 green onion
5 slices of turkey bacon
Garlic powder
Paprika
Salt
Pepper
Olive oil 

Step 1: preheat oven to 500 degrees
Step 2: wash and dice red potatoes
Step 3: season potatoes w/olive oil paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder
Step 4: place potatoes in oiled non stick  cassarole dish and bake for 40-50 minutes stirring every 15
Step 5: wash and dice chicken breast into small bites (wash hands)
Step 6: season chicken as the potatoes or your liking
Step 7: slice up and fry the turkey bacon into bits (wash hands)
Step 8: dice green onion while bacon cooks
Step 9: once potatoes are done, layer the raw chicken, then cheese, the diced green onion, topped with bacon bits
Step 10: bake for 20 more minutes or until chicken is completely done.

Ok so just in case you haven't heard, LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling was exposed recently in a phone call with his black and Mexican girlfriend. This phone call let the world know of Donald Sterling's plantation mind-frame. I pray for him, he's old as dirt. Back then it was okay to think like he does. I'd pray for his evolution but he's so old he most likely won't live to see that day. There were several celebrity responses but this one from my favorite comedian Mike Epps, was by far the VERY BEST response anyone could've thought of. TWF: The First Ever 3-D Printed Dress! Ermagerd!!!

This is Dita Von Teese. (Yes, she's gorgeous, calm down.) The dress she's werking like no tomorrow was fabricated by a printer. Real life! Not joking.

Michael Schmidt designed the gown with  architect, Francis Bitonti. They took a 3-D digital rendering of Dita's actual body, and fit the design to the form, so that it fit her perfectly. It was printed in 17 pieces with 3,000 individual joints for maliability and movement. Then, the dress was lacquered black and covered with 12,000 jet black Swarvoski Crystals. It was shown at a symposium at the Ace Hotel in NYC a few months ago and in LA last week. 

I should have been there. 

There's a video of Dita modeling the dress and the showing of the whole fabrication process as narrated by the designer in the Times article where I read about this new frontier in fashion.

YES!! IT IS EVERYTHING YOU'RE IMAGINING! STOP!! DONT ADD YOUR TWO CENTS JUST LISTEN TO EXACTLY WHAT SHE TELLS YOU. Okay so first of all I LOVE Kelly Rowland!!! Growing up my sisters & I were OBSESSED with Destiny's Child and yes of course I was Kelly!! She represents for us beautiful dark brown girls and her existence made me more confident as a kid. Not only is she beautiful she is BRILLIANT! Now replay the song & disregard EVERYTHING you've heard anywhere but out of her mouth. This girl (just like many of us, our sisters, and mothers) has been abused. Most women keep these things secret not knowing sharing could actually save a life. Having the star power she does makes her voice heard by millions which means this song alone could potentially save numerous lives and that makes me love her 100 times more! She tells her story poetically with beautiful strength and I thank her for that. Yes I know it gets deeper but leave that up to her to share with the world. Thanks Kelly I LOVE You! Tattoo Tuesday: The Vintage Stuff

I'm obsessed with tattoos. If they weren't so expensive, I'd have many more. Anyway, with obsession comes knowledge. I'm always studying the history of things I fancy. I was on Tumblr just looking at tattoo photos just because that's what I do, and stumbled upon this jewel...

Apparently, this is from the 1920's.
I love how they're all dapper with their comb overs, but plenty tatted.

Of course, this inspired me to look for more.

What I Would've Worn: Golden Globes 2013

Everyone is talking about who wore what best. That gets old after a minute or so. I start thinking: Since I have such an opinion, what would I have worn last night?

So, I thought about Givenchy. Tisci is my number one as far as designer obsessions go, but Fall 2012 featured fur tops which I love, but fur is just too much for the Golden Globes. Then, I thought about Alexander McQueen, my number two, but those flamboyant, pink, anemone like tiers would surely get me shunned, even though, I think the dresses are fabulous. Then, it came to me! Giles, Spring 2013.

Since we are back, I'm going to make it a habit to post anytime I see something WE must have. I still haven't figured out a title for it, but when I do...you'll know.

I found these on Hartslag's Tumblr  today. Her purple hair is fabulous, by the way. Anyway, I must have these rings or something like them. I have the re-obsession with finger jewelry (kinky right...), and I feel like I need to acquire as many rings as possible. I mean, you can never have too many. A ring on every finger is ratchet though. Maybe a couple on a few fingers...you know...clutter chic.

This discovery also makes me want to start a Tumblr...hmmm...
