Things We Fancy: Lips Tasting Like Happy Hour

I found these on the Nylon Magazine blog. They're available at urbanoutfitters.com
They taste like my two favorite drinks besides Red Bull  & Vodka.

The one to the left is Philosophy's Melon Daiquiri.

The one to the right is Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm.

Now, I haven't tried them, but since my "saving for education" days are on hold, I think I'm going to do an Urban Outfitters' beauty section shopping spree.

I'll update you guys when I do. In the meantime, if you own one of these alcohol flavored gems, let me know how it tastes.

Like liquor I'm sure.

Munchie Meal: Fried Broccoli & Grilled Shrimp

Yes broccoli fried!!! Yummy yummy yummy!! And what better to pair with this delectable treat than grilled italian shrimp!! MMMMmmmmmm!! This is an original recipe my boyfriend created that he won't share with me but it is a simple milk flour batter and it tastes great with fresh or frozen broccoli. The shrimp were grilled using butter and italian dressing. This meal is soooo good i'm eating it tonight for the second time this week! Have fun experimenting with your broccoli batter, i'm almost certain you can't go wrong.

Things We Fancy: The Night Walk

Meet my new obsession from Jeffrey Campbell...

Isn't she pretty!

I don't know how you walk in these, and I don't care. I'm a quick learner, and I don't mind a little pain.

Here they are in action...

Photos courtesy of Solestruck.com
If they are cute with jeans, they are cute with anything. I can't wait until these are back in stock.
That black suede is calling my name.

Fashionista Nail Time Presents: Stiletto Nails Pt. Deux

So, I finally went and got my nails done today, and I did it! I got my version of stiletto nails. I just said "sharp round," and my nail guy knew what I meant.

Check my cellphone photography.

Classic gray to complement my ultra femme nails.

I love them. I didn't get them sharp because I have a job.
I can't wait until they get a little longer.

Things We Fancy: Poetry by AjiaZ! =)

Flowerbomb

A flower he gave
As a token of love
Little did i know
I'd fit him like a glove
He loves me he loves me not he loves me
Now the flower is gone but i'm left with this bomb
And it is still on fire!
Never had a love so deep so intense so immense
Never have i been filled with such desire!
Let him do what he may
He may even stray away
Just as long as he soon returns...
But he better come back fully armed,
Strapped, with a flower & the bomb.

Fin.

Things We Fancy: Jewelry!!!

THE EARRING NECKLACE

Me (AjiaZ) on the left rockin' my new necklace @ScratchApparel while putting in a modeling application. @SWAGGKING on my right. =)

RiRi rockin' her earring necklace with dark shades =)

This fly new accessory "The Earring Necklace" is...pretty self-explanatory! lol The earring necklace is one of the latest trends in fashion. Rihanna is the only celebrity i could find sporting the earring necklace but since she's one of my favorite celebs i'm okay with that. My earring necklace was purchased at Suga Boutique in Mobile AL. for only $15.99! =)

MuSICK: Amy Jade Winehouse "Rehab"

R.I.P fallen star Amy Jade Whinehouse
9/14/83-07/23/2011

English singer song-writer, mostly famous for her sultry and soulful voice, was found dead early this morning at the young age of 27. Fortunately her voice and spirit will live on through her music. Here's one of my favorite 'drunken' hits from Amy, "Rehab".

Things We Fancy: Lit that's the Sh*!

"Like I Give A Frock"

"fashion forecasts and meaningless misguidance" -Michi

So last weekend while browsing through the clearance racks at the mall's Books-a-million's, I found a treasure! "Like I Give a Frock" was there standing out like a 6'3 model in a room full of dwarfs and the best part yet, it was only $1!! Yea one single buck! But this isn't the best part. After reading this book I felt like I owed the author, Michi, at least $20! This book is the cutest most creative work of literature i've ever seen. Michi uses artwork to tell simple stories on fashion do's and don'ts. Here's one page below. You'll have to get your own copy here on amazon.com hardback for only $12.89, to view the rest...or maybe i'll share some of Michi's misguidance with you all occasionally. =)

Things we Fancy: Classic Films: "Girl Interrupted"

Girl, Interrupted is one of my all time favorite drama films. Mainly because its an awesome film but also because I absolutely love Angelina Jolie. A good drama film is so real you can see yourself and others in the characters. It has you locked in and anticipating the next scene. Girl, Interrupted is full of truth and drama. A good film has the perfect cast. Each character has his/her own distinct personality. Girl, Interrupted; this title says to me a girl has encountered an interruption of some sort in her life and this is exactly what the story tells. Never has a movie hit so close to home. The cast as a group is convincing and makes the film a great drama, which is the films biggest strength. Another very important strength of Girl, Interrupted is the subliminal message sent about the power of the mind. The main character Susana Kayson, played by Wynona Rider, goes through a mental tug-of-war caught between a normal life and insanity. She is a writer and like many writers she is also a thinker. She over-evaluates the negative things in life and mentally overwhelms herself. The only weakness found in this film would be depth of Susana’s character. I felt as if she could have been a little ‘crazier’.Hence the title, Girl, Interrupted is targeted at girls, more specific, young women. The films plot is filled with the trials and hardships many women face everyday but amplified. The characters portrayed in this movie range from girls with eating disorders to girls with personality disorders and pathological liars. As the drama unfolds each character becomes more relatable. When the film was released in 1999 I was only ten years old so I was nearly terrified of what was happening then. Now as an adult when I see Girl, Interrupted I get more emotional than anything because it now reflects the story of my life. The main character Susana is a troubled writer and misfit diagnosed with a personality disorder after nearly overdosing on aspirin. Susana knew that she was not crazy but she knew something was wrong. Being in the institution helped her discover her truth. The movies turning point happens when a nurse tells Susana, “You can drive yourself crazy or you can get over it, the choice is yours.” I think the mental wars of indecisiveness make this film so popular and relatable.I place great value in this piece of pop culture because it inspires me as a human, a woman, and as a writer. Everyone can relate to being unable to make a big decision, especially decisions that have the potential to change ones life. The producers of this film created a work of art depicting characters not many speak up for. The characters were chosen remarkably and show a little insanity in everyday people.

Fashionista Nail Time Presents: The Stiletto (Very Sharp)

Stiletto Nails, expo style. I have a job. I can't risk breaking nails like these.
Stiletto nails are exactly what you're thinking, sharp-ass acrylics that could be used for, but not limited to, stabbing. Trust me, the crazy long ones will disturb you. I'm being tasteful today.
Anyway, stiletto nails are hot right now, and I want a pair, not that sharp though. I'd never be able to pick up anything ever again. However, the pointed round version aka "the functional version" is more suitable for a girl on the go like moi.
See here...

Ooh, Look! Famous people wear them.
The pointed round version is more realistic. I could totally rock this. Duh, I'm the nail junkie. This look is very feminine and very vixen. I think retro, catwoman, cabaret hotness. They look great in any color and design. However, natural nails can't withstand the sharpness of the angle. The nail can become easily breakable, which is why I would prefer getting this done with artificial nails or at least an overlay for reinforcement.

Best of the Regular People's Stiletto...

Leopard Print. Nice.

Pucci Design. Savvy.

Piercings...ok, sure, I'll go with that.

Classic Gray and the watch ring is heaven.

My nails are almost rounds, so I think pretty soon I'll be able to pull this look off.
Fingers crossed.

Things We Fancy: Prada Cat-Eyes

The Cat Eye by Prada. Allegedly "Baroque" style. Not as in the late 16th century elaborate European artistic movement, I think the people at Prada meant "over-the-top" like Willy Wonka.
I think they're awesome. If I had 300 bucks growing from a money tree in my backyard, I'd totally buy them, but these cat-eyes are far from Baroque.
I'd say Art Nouveau at the least. Yeah, Art Nouveau, definitely.

Valentino Fall Couture 2011

Valentino is always on point. Even with the great himself in retirement, there has been no slacking off. Trust me, I saw The Last Emperor, and Valentino would flip if his namesake went to garbage (like Dior did this year).
I love how my two favorite houses of the season, Givenchy and Valentino, have this whole princess theme going on. I'm going to call this one, Mediterranean princess.

Here are my two favorite looks...

Jourdan Dunn in this creation is stunning.
However, I would have to get a belt for this dress.
I have boobs.

The last dress is just...I don't even have a word for it.
It's that amazing. The detail.
And the hair...my new fall look.

Givenchy Fall Couture 2011

Besides Valentino (which I will post later), Givenchy had the best fall couture of this year (as usual). The bead work. The embroidery. The feathers! This collection is Riccardo Tisci's version of demure, which is brilliant and innovative (as usual).
Riccardo Tisci needs to phone me.
He is the truth people. His attention to detail is ridiculous (as usual).

My favorite look...

It's like Princess Bride, but way fierce.

The back. Yes, this is real life.

I want to wear this to my wedding.

Battling Depression with Lipstick and Sh*t!

I'm having one of those days where I want to kick a puppy or punch someone in the face, and I love puppies, people...not so much.  However, puppies symbolize happiness, and that is something that I'm not right now. When I want to change that, I take my sad ass right over to Youtube and turn that frown upside down.

These three videos get me through almost any un-righteousness that tries to ruin that rare phenomenon (to me) known as "a good mood."

Bret You Got It Going On - Flight of the Conchords

I sing this song in the shower. It's so freaking funny.

Dance! - Datarock

It's like the subliminal message guy hypnotizes me into a good mood.

Epic Meal Time

A web-show about a bunch of already drunk Canadian dudes getting drunk as they make some ridiculous meals involving bacon and Jack Daniels. These are my kind of guys.

So, the next time you're feeling blue. Come on over to Lipstick and Sh*t. We'll all get "chocolate" wasted and watch these videos together.
There will be no crying. Seriously.

Learning Words with Lipstick and Sh*t! (ft. Urban Dictionary)

Today's word is Caffeine Window.

The daily time slot in which you must have some form of caffeine otherwise you will get a headache. No amount of caffeine after this window will cure the headache. A common ailment of coffee addicts who need their morning fix before they can function properly.

For example: "Darn, I missed my caffeine window. Time to go ape shit on everyone."

Remember addicts, always have your caffeine handy because the next best thing is crack.

Fashionista Nail Time Presents: Passion Fruit Scented Nail Polish

While I was sobering up in New Orleans by shopping (better than coffee and aspirin together), I also bought some passion fruit scented polish from Forever 21(duh, it's like the Wal-Mart of fashion). It's not my first scented one. (I have pina colada also.)
Scented polish is nothing new. For the remedial, it's nail paint that makes your fingers smell like food and stuff. I love it. It gives me something to do when I have nothing better to do but sniff my nails.

This is what I bought.
Passion Fruit Scented Polish.
Only $2.80 @ Forever 21.
My nails.
In smell-o-vision.
Just kidding...
That doesn't exist.
Check my glitter pinky.

It's like a dark purple shimmer.
It smells more like Juicy Fruit than passion fruit.  Hell, I love Juicy Fruit. So, it's a win-win.

Things We Fancy: **Beyonce 4 - Lena Milan**

Lena Milan France
Beyonce-4

So it's true, GIRLS really do run the world!! Beyonce's beat drops and the girls get down! Watch as 1 & 1/2 year old Lena Milan dances to my favorite track from Beyonce's new album, featuring Andre 3000, Party & Beyonce's latest single Who Run the World (Girls!). Video created by Maja.

Things We Fancy: WWF Tees @ Forever 21

So, I took a little vacation this past weekend to good ole New Orleans, got drunk, ate boudin, and then went shopping and bought this top...

(There are no pictures of me in it because I don't want hard evidence of how drunk I really was, really drunk.)

The Cheetah Sublimation Tee @ Forever 21

Cute, right? Forever 21 got it right with this one. I love the elbow length sleeves. It's retro, but you can pair it with anything. I paired it with simple gray tights. Plus, a dollar of each purchase goes towards helping WWF (World Wildlife Fund) continue their efforts protecting endangered species like the cheetah on this shirt.
So, go get one. They have them with a variety of animals and t-shirt styles. I may go back and get the panda one. Pandas are my favorite.
